The Show Must Be Paused

#theshowmustbepaused #blackouttuesday

We will stop! The Show must be paused in the wake of a very serious matter.

You may or may not have heard about the appalling arrest of an unarmed Mr George Floyd in Minneapolis. He was being arrested for using a fake $20 bill and being under the influence in the driver’s seat of a car. During the arrest the Police officer, Mr Derek Chauvin, knelt on Mr Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes. Mr Floyd died. The Police Officer and his colleagues have been sacked and Mr Chauvin is charged with Third degree murder. The family and protestors are demanding first degree murder.

In the UK there are protests in various Cities. The Music Industry is standing still for 24 hours today as part of the protest. The hashtag is #TheShowMustBePaused.

As women in music we can’t ignore such a unjust thing. We are joining the #TheShowMustBePaused protest too.

Black lives, all lives in fact, matter!
