Carlene was one of the people who attended our Cafemnee Online Worshop during the months of April and May this year. She shared with us some of her impressions, that we invite you to read so you can have a good idea of what to expect from our projects and how what we do could help you out in your path to a successful career in music.
Hey, my fellow women and musicians. What a privilege to be part of something so, so special for the past four weeks; really, really proud of us all. A huge thanks to Millicent for all her hard work in preparations, technology hiccups!, and execution of our sessions each week, and for sharing her personal and professional experiences musically with us; truly a PROFESSIONAL. Another big thanks to Noval for all his preparations and tips – ONE NOTE SAMBA is in all our repertoires I’m sure, and for his valuable feedback from our audio and videos. Truly appreciative of both of them taking time out of their schedules to share from the heart, mind and soul with us – THANKS!!!
What can I say – I have gone to the next level (as Millicent would say:)
1) What I used to do? – I did not video myself in any of my playing.
2) What will I do more of? – Video, video, video – beginning, middle and ends – to practice, practice and practice more.
3) What I will improve on – having my own ‘signature’ and improvisation in my djembe playing; which will create more opportunity in my diversity of playing
4) Any other thoughts/feelings – bring it on – the next Cafenmee Workshop – so, so looking forward to all the creativity of what we each will bring to the table […] Keep it UP everyone – Be well and stay well. Djembe and OUT!!!!!
