Everything has changed drastically since the last time we refreshed our image, back on December 2019. We have grown, we have learned, we have migrated to new, virtual environments to keep working towards our goal to empower women in music. All the challenges we’ve endured have polished us, and to reflect this, we have polished our image as well.
Dutch singer, songwriter and vocal coach Floor Jansen has a singing masterclass series online, and it is free!
If everything goes alright, lockdown measures will be completely removed by June 21st this year. Let’s plan ahead and dust off our stage clothes to go back to live music full force!
After the delivery of the Budget speech last Wednesday, the Musician’s Union analysed the all the announced measures and arrived to the conclusion that, despite there are good news, there’s still work to be done.
Tomorrow, Chancellor Rishi Sunak will deliver the Budget speech for MPs in the House of Commons. We are on the last leg of the race to make our concerns heard and push for the government to back up musicians during the COVID crisis and beyond. Let’s take action!
The day has arrived! ‘Time For My Music’ has just opened for membership applications, now you too can join our community of supportive women in music to advance in your career with all the resources, guidance and energy you could wish for.
For the final questions of our evaluation form, we asked the attendants to the workshop ‘Owning Your Spot’ about what they had achieved thanks to Cafemnee, if they ever had attended a workshop with us before. Here, some of their answers, which make us very proud.
“Owning Your Spot” was, in a way, the culmination of several processes that were developed in previous workshops of Cafemnee. So far, most of our sessions had focused on things to do out or around the stage: practise, management, finances, communication with agents and clients, and so on. This time, we went directly to the stage, and that allowed us to apply knowledge acquired in all those previous experiences, and understand just how much we have changed for the best.
2019 is coming to an end and most of us are thinking about how we will tackle 2020, how we are going to make it the best year of our lives so far. To achieve so, part of the process is to reflect on how to improve the way we do things.
2019 has been an amazing year, full of growth, good experiences and two enriching and inspiring Cafemnee workshops. We cannot wait for what 2020 will bring, and that’s why we have already set the dates for the workshops we will have in the following twelve months. You can never be too early for this stuff, right?
