We are approaching the first anniversary of ‘Time For My Music’, the online community created to help women in music stay active and connected during lockdown. The experience has been fantastic, but rather than tell you so ourselves, we thought it would be better to ask some of the members of the community about how they feel.
This post will wrap up on the amazing feedback that we received for the online workshop, our first experience in the digital world that became the seed of our soon to launch permanent community group.
As you know, our latest workshop took place online through the span of several weeks, as opposed to our regular face to face one day events. One of the results of the workshop was the community group, which has remained active after the masterclasses were done and has provided a space to our members to communicate and collaborate. If you are wondering how to have access to this group if you don’t have it, or whether it will continue active, keep reading!
Carlene was one of the people who attended our Cafemnee Online Worshop during the months of April and May this year. She shared with us some of her impressions, that we invite you to read so you can have a good idea of what to expect from our projects and how what we do could help you out in your path to a successful career in music.
We had a total of four sessions in our first online Cafemnee workshop. It was quite a new experience for everybody, and we are glad to say all the attendants and instructors tackled the challenge with enthusiasm and confidence, resulting in a great learning process and a lot of fun!
The world swept the rug from under our feet but we adapted, and ‘Pleasing Your Audience’ quickly transformed into Cafemnee Online, an experience that closes this Saturday with a bang: the Open Mic Showcase, virtual edition! It has been an exciting opportunity to stay connected and explore new ways of communicating and collaborating. We are as happy as our attendants, to be honest!
What started as a one-day workshop has become a weekly online meeting of a thriving community. The wonderful session on improvisation that we had on April 11th was so successful that we decided to make a part 2 this Satuday 18th April, extending the live online activities until April 25th. This means that you can still join the live programme!
We are still receiving new attendants for our online workshop, as the first session was recorded and posted on our learning platform, meaning that newcomers will be able to catch up no problem. Sign up today!
You are a good interpreter. You are passionate about music and nothing would make you happier than share it live, but you don’t know how to approach your audience. Will they like the songs that you chose for them? Will they engage with you in a positive way? What will you do if you commit a mistake in your interpretation, or if someone rudely answers their phone in the middle of your performance? Join our workshop to find out!
